Is this child abuse or what????

So the countdown to Christmas is in full swing. My parents keep trying to explain this holiday season to me using story books. So far I've figured out that a baby was born next to some cows and donkeys while a fat man slid down a chimney to deliver a Wii. My parents have insisted I take part in all of the holiday rites of passage to include dressing me up in a velvet faux suit and sitting me on the lap of a man that most likely eats beef stew straight from the can at truck stops 11 months out of the year. My mommy thought it would be hysterical to purchase a large sock with a reindeer head attached. To make it better it has bells and sings. My parents decided to play it for me over and over because it made me shreak in fear. Check out the video below. For those of you interested in my next journey, mommy and I will be leaving Virginia on Tuesday for Atlanta. While down south I will be visiting state #9, Alabama. We will then be leaving Atlanta for Las Vegas, NV (state #10) so I can see my Grandma Chris, Grandpa Mark, and celebrate Great Grandpa's 89 birthday. I'm just hoping to make it to 1 with parents like these.

(Thanks Patti and Jay for the very cool sweatshirt!)

My First Modeling Job.....Baby Elf

Uncle Joe found this book for me. It was my first modeling gig. I was lucky to get a cover on my first audition.

My 1st Thanksgiving....God Bless the Troops

Thursday was my first Thanksgiving. My mommy and daddy taught me the importance of family in every sense of the word. We were so thankful to have good friends who are honorably serving along side my daddy to dinner at our house. What a great time we had! Mommy started abusing me early in the morning by waking me up with the camera flash to capture my first Thanksgiving smile. Good luck with that. I don't smile on command until I get some coffee in me. All three of us missed my Grandparents and Aunts/Uncles/Cousins but were blessed to have a house full and WAY to much food.

Mommy, Daddy and I in post Thanksgiving bliss.

Me and daddy with our Thanksgiving company.

This was my third plate and I was starting to get a little full. Do you know how hard it is to eat turkey when you have no teeth.

Here I am helping mommy get dinner ready. By helping I mean staring and laughing at the kitchen light fixture.

Here I am first thing Thanksgiving morning giving thanks for an extra hour of sleep.

Road Trip w/Mom and Dad

We finally set off from Lawton (Ft. Sill), OK on Saturday. The sun was bright the music was blasting and mommy, daddy and I hit the open road. If you think Indian casinos and oil dikes are a scenic drive I definitely recommend the trip. We made it 6 hours to Little Rock, AR on the first day. I was able to go meet Tegan my mommy's close friend since forever. Tegan knitted me a very cool camoflague blanket that I plan to build forts with in the coming years.
Day 2 took us from Little Rock to Nashville, TN. We were planning on stopping in Chattanooga and at Graceland but I was going through clothes much faster than mommy predicted. Can any of you say that you've been naked in a Cracker Barrel? I'm considering starting a hobby of getting naked in strange places so far I have a Delta commuter jet and a Cracker Barrel in Arkansa.
Mommy and Daddy woke up on day 3 with a mission. Get me home to sleep in my normal crib. We drove 10 hours in the freezing rain thru the mountains of Tennessee. We stopped twice so crowds of people could tell mommy and daddy how cute I was. I obligingly smiled and cooed and then screamed my brains out once locked in the car. We finally arrived home on Monday night just in time to start cooking turkey!

For those of you counting I am 13 weeks old and I have traveled to 8 states: Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee, Arkansa, and Oklahoma.

Farewell Oklahoma

Daddy was definitely ready to head back home at the end of the week. He completed his course and we had 1 last farewell dinner with his classmates.

(Daddy and I after a long week of classes.)

(Daddy and I at our last dinner in Lawton, OK. Mommy and Daddy let me stay up WAY past my bedtime. I showed them just how bad I can be when I stay up late.)

(LT Read-Walsh is telling me how she is personally going to take down Al-Qaeda. Daddy is a little bit afraid of her......(A LOT).)

(LT Fuller like LT Read-Walsh taught me girls are not just pretty but tough soldiers too. They kept daddy in line during his 7 week course and I think I have my first crush.)

OOOOOOOKLAHOMA!!!!

So I'm back to blogging after our family trip to Oklahoma. The adventure started with mommy and I flying from Newport News, VA to Lawton, OK. If you need to know where Lawton is don't worry hopefully you will not ever have a need to visit. I can tell you it is somewhere in the great state of OOOOOOOklahoma. I really enjoyed flying on the airplane. On our trip from NN to Atlanta I was so relaxed I decided to throw mommy a curve ball. This incident ended with me being butt naked on a commuter plane. Mommy won that round and I landed in outfit/diaper #2. I decided to give her a break on the trip from Atlanta to Lawton as the plane was full and we were sitting next to a pilot who just found out he was expecting his first baby. Mommy told me not to ruin it for him.
Once we arrived in Oklahoma I was ecstatic to see my daddy again. Six weeks was too long. He immediately carried me to the barracks to meet his platoon. During the day mommy and I enjoyed the beautiful weather in Lawton, Ok. It was 40 degrees and the wind was 40 mph. I got a good laugh at mommy when she pulled the stroller out and the wind carried it off across an open field. She had to sprint after it. No I wasn't in it. Stay tuned for the road trip home!

(Lt. Miller looking very natural with me. )

(Lt Recchia giving me tips on how to pick up waitresses and how to avoid STDs.)

(I wanted to go home with Lt. Park. It took my mommy 2 hours to calm me down after I left him. )

11 Weeks Old Today....

This is mommy's favorite sleeping face. She usually gets to see it during my afternoon nap that starts on the way home from visiting my buddies at the YMCA. Mommy no longer gives the childcare workers dirty looks when they take me back. She can now go 1 whole hour for a workout without having a panic attack.

In the previous blog I mentioned my favorite dinosaur shirt. Here it is! Thanks Aunt Cate. See how good I am sitting up now.

My Auntie Leticia gave me 2 super cool onesies. This one with the turtle and another with a "W." Mommy attempted to take a photo with the W when I decided to projectile poop all over everything. She will try again another day. Am I cute or what?

This is me having some tummy time in my puppy outfit. Again, thanks Aunt Cate.

In other news, I will be traveling on the big airplane in just 6 more days to an exotic land called Oklahoma. I can't wait to see my daddy again. He's an even bigger sucker than mommy.

10 Weeks and Spoiled Rotten

Mommy has not been good about posting my blog this week. I mean its hard enough for a 10 week old to write then she sits on them for days before posting. Last Sunday mommy took me to Sears for my first photo session. They saw sucker written all over her face. After having my soul exposed on camera for hours, ok so it was just my bum, I finally got a break. This week also marked me hitting 10 weeks. Mommy keeps talking about how sad she is to put my 0-3 month clothes away. Luckily my favorite dinosaur shirt still fits. I'm really getting strong when it comes to holding my head up and I can sit up for a couple of minutes before I tip over. I'm also losing my John McCain fists and starting to open my hands up occasionally. Most of all I am looking forward to my trip on the airplane in just 9 days! I miss my daddy terribly!!!!

Halloween PSA: Eat Your Peas!!!

(This is the very cute horsey jacket Aunt Jane from Montana gave me.)

I saw my new Virginia doctor this week for my 2 month check up and my first round of vaccinations. I am not 12lbs and 23 inches. For those of you keeping up I've gained 4lbs and 2 inches since I arrived. Mommy was thankful to hear I can now go 4 hours between feedings. She immediately changed my schedule. She keeps talking about sleeping thru the night. I threw her a bone and went 6 hours on Thurs night.

Road Trip Part 2

After keeping up with a crazy schedule while is south Georgia mommy decided she finally needed to rest and get well. We headed to Grandpa's house where he and Grandma Julia spoiled me beyond repair. While in Peachtree City I also got to visit Uncle Golden Hands and Aunt Debbie (not pictured because mommy can't seem to keep up with me.) I also met my Great Grandma. She let me know that I should vote for Bush in the election. I had mommy write that down so I could remember.
Aunt Cate brought Alex and Sabrina down to visit with me.

Here I am with my new friend Tommy. He has the coolest toys I've ever seen. I can't wait to get them in my mouth. Mommy has never seen me smile as much as I did with Tommy around.

Our trip home was long for mommy. I got all caught up on my beauty sleep. On the way out of town I stopped by to see Aunt Krista (yes all digits are intact). I was passed around the eighth grade teachers like a piece of fresh meat. I loved every minute of it.
After 2 days 8 stops and no less than 4,000 diapers we finally returned home on Tuesday.

Road Trip Part 1: South Georgia

Mommy and I hit the open road on Oct 20th. Before we reached the North Carolina border I was already sporting my second outfit of the trip. Mommy learned an important lesson: Always have plastic bags handy. After 6 stops and 11 hours we reached Savannah on Monday night. Please note mommy and I both woke up with colds before we left.

On Tuesday I got to meet my Auntie Leticia. Unfortunately because mommy and I were sick we weren't able to visit with my 3 favorite girls! Next we met Grammy Melinda and Marsha at mommy's old work. Everyone was thoroughly impressed with my hair. I'm not sure why except daddy doesn't have so much.

Tuesday night I had my first college experience. I went to GA Southern to meet my Aunt Hannah and her roommate Roxy. I got to go in a girls apartment. Mommy kept saying this would be the only time that would happen. The girls took us to Locos so I could experience some college nightlife.

Our final stop on the South Georgia tour was with mommy's friend Adrianne in Hinesville, GA. She is the only person mommy allows to touch her hair which is a problem since we live 3 states away. All the ladies in the salon looked after me while mommy had a morning of beauty.

We left Hinesville and headed for Peachtree City.......

Road Trip

Mommy and I are setting out on the open road Monday. We are heading for GA. Our trip has been delayed twice due to Mommy's fears of traveling alone with me and Chompers. She finally decided to leave Chompy in Virginia. So Monday we are off. Wish us luck. We are going to see friends and family in Savannah, Columbus, Auburn and Atlanta. My grandpa is turning 61 next weekend so I'm hoping to get my hands on some cake.
I am going to be one well traveled baby. This is all practice for our trip on the airplane in November. We're going to Oklahoma to see Daddy.

Here's a picture of me in my puppy outfit. Mommy likes my puppy paws.

Baby in Motion

For those of you who don't know my daddy is in Ft. Sill, OK for the next 6 weeks. Mommy took some video of me today so he could watch me in action. Isn't technology great! I think the camera adds at least 6 ounces.

More New Faces and a Welcome Familiar One!!!

Mommy and I had a really exciting weekend. First, I got to meet Uncle Joe, Aunt Cate and my cousins Alex and Sabrina for the first time. They flew to Viriginia just to see me! Then we had a surprise visit from Daddy. He had to take 3 planes each way to get here. Since he went through so much effort to get here I threw Daddy and Mommy a bone and smiled for the first time. Mommy is not quite fast enough yet to get it on film but she's working on it. Here are some photos from our weekend.
